How to open a shared mailbox using Outlook

Once the permissions have been assigned to your account on another mailbox:

  • From Outlook Ribbon menu, click File
  • Under the Info tab, click Add Account. A new dialogue box will popup
    • Add Account
  • Provide the mailbox name you are trying to open (example: Daily Media)
  • Enter the email address of the mailbox you are trying to open and click Next (No need to enter a password here)
    • Mailbox Information
  • A new dialogue box will popup asking for credentials. Click More Choices and select ‘Use a different account’
  • In the User name box, enter Your email address followed by @domain.com (Your email@domain.com)
  • In the Password box, enter Your account password
    • Password Prompt
  • Check the Remember my credentials box and click OK
